SITA Relief Funds Distributed
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SPIRIT INDUSTRY TRADE ASSOCIATION (SITA) ESTABLISHES RELIEF FUND January 15, 2008 (Enterprise, AL) – The Spirit Industry Trade Association (SITA) is pleased to announce the establishment of the SITA Relief Fund for the aid of cheerleading and dance teams that are in immediate crisis. When a devastating tornado struck Enterprise, AL in March, 2007, destroying the high school and killing two members of the cheerleading squad, the companies of SITA felt moved to help the cheerleaders and the school rebuild. The SITA Relief Fund was instituted, and members of SITA, along with other concerned citizens, donated funds to be used specifically for emergencies such as those experienced by Enterprise HS. “We are very pleased to be able to help the cheerleaders, and the entire school, by presenting to Enterprise the contributions made to the SITA Relief Fund,” says Darren Thompson, Chairman of SITA. “The way that Head Coach Heather Mitchell and the cheer squad made their way through an extremely difficult time was inspirational to all of us,” says Darren. “We hope that our contribution will help continue the restoration at Enterprise.” A total of $12,139.77 will be divided evenly between the spirit program and the school. The SITA Relief Fund has become a permanent philanthropic initiative of the trade association and will continue to aid other spirit teams that find themselves in immediate need. ----- To create a forum that represents and promotes the interest and advancement of the spirit industry.
